WEBINAR: “PROFESSIONAL TEST LINE, BOOKING, QUOTATION, AND FREIGHT IN INTERNATIONAL TRANSPORTATION”
(Overcoming the pandemic together with students)
The workshop on "Professional test line, booking, quotation, and freight in international transport" is provided by Tan Cang STC Company. This workshop is one of the series of training activities in the “practical training programme” with the participation and companionship of employers who are multinational companies and enterprises. The programme is often organized by the Department of International Business, School of Economics, Can Tho University. However, under the complicated circumstance of the Covid-19 epidemic in 2021, the programme still takes place with online form as planned.
The purpose of the webinar is to share practical knowledge related to foreign trade and logistics. Specifically, it talks about the import-export process of enterprises that facilitates students to understand the practical import and export models from import-export enterprises and port operators. Thus, be aware of the impacts of COVID-19 on import-export businesses, freight forwarding at ports. Through live interactive activities with speakers who are experts with practical experience in businesses, this program is aimed at third or fourth-year students at universities, colleges, and intermediate schools whose majors are in international business, logistics, import-export, economics, shipping. These are students study specialized subjects,who can participate in face-to-face learning sessions with businesses but are limited due to the COVID-19 epidemic. For this reason, Tan Cang STC Company cooperated with the Department of International Business, College of Economics, Can Tho University to organize a seminar to create opportunities for students to exchange and learn practical experience from industry experts. Speakers had shared useful knowledge in the industry, as well as answered questions in the field of Logistics. In addition, this is also an opportunity for students to receive many interesting and useful gifts from Tan Cang STC Company, which are scholarships, online courses to help them obtain well prepared after graduating from university. Therefore, Tan Cang STC Company would like to spread the message "Let's spread from the small actions to the community". This is also one of the series of meaningful activities towards the 10th anniversary of Tan Cang STC Company's establishment, an activity to celebrate 5 years of cooperation and signing the MOU between Department of International Business, School of Economics- Can Tho University and Tan Cang STC Company.
The workshop was honored to welcome the participation of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vo Van Dut – Chair, Department of International Business; Dr. Le Tran Thien Y – Vice chair, Department of International Business; and other lecturers of Can Tho University.

Nguyen Duc Nham – Program Development Specialist, Lecturer at Tan Cang STC Company.
Along with that were the attendance of lecturers of the School of Economics, Can Tho University, the organizers of the program from Tan Cang STC Company, and nearly 400 International Business students of Can Tho University.

The main content of the webinar program consists of 4 parts:
Part 1: Discussion on the topic: “Overview of train booking, related costs and how to book a train” – Speaker Tran Thi Thanh Tam.
Part 2: Discussing the topic: "Details of steps to book ships at enterprises, departments related to shipping booking, actual documents between shipping companies and ports" - Speaker Pham Anh Thong.
Part 3: Minigame Kahoot: “Good game, good gifts”
Part 4: Awarding scholarships to students with excellent academic performance in the last semester.

At the end of the programme was the awarding of scholarships to 2 students from Department of International Business, the School of Economics, Can Tho University. The awarded students have obtained excellent achievements recommended by Department of International Business. First, Pham Quoc Viet, who received a scholarship for the online course "Introduction to Warehouse" which is taught 100% in English by Tan Cang STC Company from the Netherlands. Second, Tran Anh Van received an online "Practice Import-Export" scholarship organized by Tan Cang STC Company. In addition to these two scholarships, Tan Cang STC also awarded three scholarships to 03 winners of the Kahoot! mini-game contest. And, Tan Cang STC Company also offer 10 scholarships with 30% discount for students when participating in European standard online courses at Tan Cang STC Company.

Overall, the workshop was well organized and presented a great success itself with the participation of experienced speakers in the industry from Tan Cang STC Company, a team of experts in the field of logistics, lecturers from the School of Economics, Can Tho University, and the enthusiastic response of nearly 400 students. Thereby, the programme has achieved its stated purpose, which is to facilitates young generation, who are passionate about logistics and have the great opportunity to face real-life problems, improve their own professional knowledge, and meet leaders and experts in enterprises operating in the field of logistics. In addition, the dedicated professional guidance of the speakers helps the participants acquire practical knowledge and improve their own understanding about logistics field. And finally, the enthusiastic support from Tan Cang STC Company has offered conditions and opportunities for students to have closer access to the field of logistics through content, questions, valuable scholarships, and special incentives for excellent students as well as people who are passionate about this major. In the near future, several other programmes, workshops and seminars in business field will be regularly organized to support increasing practical knowledge and soft skills for international business students in particular and economics ones in general./.
