FACULTY OF INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS

 

General information     

The Faculty of International Business was previously a young department established on August 29, 2023, with an initial number of 13 members. Its predecessor was the International Business specialization (formerly known as Foreign Trade) under the Economics Department. According to the Resolution of the University Council (No. 74/NQ-HDT dated September 29, 2022), the department was elevated to a Faculty. Since that time, the International Business department has officially been renamed the Faculty of International Business.

Currently, the faculty team consists of 13 lecturers, including 2 Associate Professors, 9 PhDs, and 4 Master's degree holders (all of whom are currently pursuing their doctoral studies). The faculty members are young, dynamic, and educated at prestigious universities in developed countries such as the Netherlands, Australia, Japan, Taiwan, Belgium, Ireland, and New Zealand. The lecturers are highly passionate about their fields, dedicated to their profession, and always keen on updating their knowledge, applying new teaching methods, as well as participating in and conducting scientific research. Their research focuses on areas such as import-export, e-commerce, international trade and investment, international economics, and global business, which enhances in-depth knowledge for teaching. 

The specializations managed by the Faculty include: Bachelor of International Business; High-Quality Bachelor of International Business; Master of Economic Management. The programs managed by the Faculty have been participating in international education quality accreditation programs according to AUN-QA standards.

 

The objectives of the programme

  • Training students to possess politically correct attitudes, be professionally ethical, responsible, self-disciplined, professional, well-mannered, and be aware of staying healthy to serve the job.
  • Training students to have a basic understanding of the market mechanism, obey the laws and policies of the Communist Party and the Government, especially those related to foreign trade.
  • Developing a basic understanding of the International Business field and in-depth knowledge of import-export activities in various kinds of businesses and organizations in the context of globalization.
  • Conducting lifelong learning and self-directed learning skills, communicate effectively [including in English] and attain computer skills, and more importantly, have the ability to adapt to changes in life and work environments.

The total number of credits is 140, including 100 compulsory credits and 40 elective credits. General knowledge courses account for 46 credits, foundation courses 38 credits, and advanced knowledge courses 56 credits. Training time is 4 years (with extension up to 8 years). The programme includes 95 courses in total.

After completing the programme, students can be employed as

-Custom officials

-Import-export documents officers

-Logistic services or supply chain officers/managers

-Sales employees/coordinators/managers

-International payments staff (for the banks or for the firms)

-Researchers in institution or colleges/universities
