International Academic Exchange Program at National Taipei University (Taiwan)

From May 11-16^th, 2026, the School of Economics (CSE) of Can Tho University organized a short-term academic exchange program at National Taipei University (NTPU), Taiwan, for 19 outstanding students across various majors. The program not only offered opportunities to experience an international educational environment but also opened up promising prospects for future cooperation in joint training, scientific research, scholarship programs, and academic co-supervision between the faculties of both universities.

1. Exposure to an international academic environment and contemporary educational paradigms

National Taipei University (NTPU) is recognized as a premier public institution of higher education in Taiwan, distinguished by its academic excellence in Business, Finance, Law, and Public Affairs. Most notably, its College of Business has attained the prestigious AACSB accreditation, a definitive global benchmark that underscores the institution's alignment with international standards of excellence in business education.

Through this exchange program, students from the School of Economics - CTU had the opportunity to engage deeply with an international educational environment, gaining direct exposure to innovative pedagogical methodologies, learner-centered classroom environments, and the multicultural academic ecosystem at NTPU.

The student delegation participated in several prominent academic seminars focusing on the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in management, trends in CSR/ESG development in modern businesses, and orientation towards innovation and sustainable development in the context of globalization. Through these seminars, students not only updated their professional knowledge but also broadened their thinking, adaptability, and international perspective on current economic and management issues.

2. Enhancing scientific research capabilities and fostering global academic discourse

A prominent highlight of the initiative was the joint scientific research seminar, featuring presentations by five CSE students and four NTPU postgraduate scholars. The research themes primarily focused on economics, management, and finance, thereby cultivating a dynamic, internationally oriented platform for academic discourse.

Through this activity, students refine their research, presentation, critical thinking, and academic exchange skills in English with international faculty and peers. This program serves as a critical foundation, enabling students to strengthen their research capabilities, navigate a global learning environment, and establish definitive objectives for higher education.

3. Cultural immersion and the cultivation of a global citizenship mindset

In addition to academic activities, the student delegation engaged in various cultural experiences and learning activities in Taiwan, including visits to Sanxia Old Street, the National Palace Museum, and Taipei 101 – a famous symbol of Taiwan.

Through these experiential activities, students gained a deeper understanding of Taiwan's history, culture, social life, and modern development. This was also a chance for students to hone their adaptability in a multicultural environment, enhance their independence, improve their international communication skills, and develop a global citizenship mindset.

4. Expanding opportunities for scholarships and international educational collaborations

A significant outcome of the program was that NTPU highly appreciated the academic abilities, research proficiency, and intellectual rigor of the students from the School of Economics - CTU. Notably, two outstanding students within the delegation were awarded scholarships by NTPU professors to pursue their Master's degrees at the institution upon completing their undergraduate studies.

This is not only a proud achievement for the individual students but also a testament to the educational quality, international integration capacity, and research potential of students at the School of Economics, Can Tho University.

“We're impressed by the good manners and class performances of the students, which indicates a good quality of the education in CSE. A week is really too short to enjoy the environment and interact with students at NTPU. In addition, both institutions exchanged insights on future cooperation strategies by strengthening academic connections between faculty members, promoting joint research initiatives and academic seminars, and facilitating opportunities for CSE and NTPU faculty to co-supervise postgraduate dissertations.

Notably, the Global MBA (GMBA) program at NTPU's International College of Sustainability Innovations - taught entirely in English and accredited by AACSB - is identified as a high-potential area for future collaboration with the School of Economics's high-quality programs.

5. Affirming the internationalization strategy of the School of Economics CSE

The academic exchange program at NTPU not only provided valuable learning experiences for students but also contributed to promoting the School of Economics' internationalization strategy amid the increasingly profound integration of global higher education.

Through academic activities, cultural exchanges, scientific research, and international scholarship opportunities, CSE students are progressively equipped with professional competence, global skills, and an integrated mindset, ensuring their readiness to adapt to the future international working environment.
