2025 SUMMER INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

IN TOURISM AND HOSPITALITY MANAGEMENT

AT SCHOOL OF ECONOMICS (CSE)

The Bachelor’s curriculum in Tourism and Hospitality Management incorporates practice-based components as a core element of the program, primarily through an annual summer internship. This internship offers students a valuable opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge and acquired skills within real-world professional contexts. In June 2025, students enrolled in the Tourism and Hospitality Management program were required to complete the following industry-based training activities:

The 14-day internship was organized at hotels in Can Tho City, with the objective of familiarizing students with both luxury tourism settings and eco-friendly accommodation practices. During this period, students were primarily assigned to operational departments, including front office, food and beverage, kitchen, housekeeping, and entertainment services, where they gained practical experience in professional hospitality operations.

Subsequently, students will participate in a field trip to Phan Thiet City to examine beach tourism, emphasizing key attractions, accommodation, and culinary services, a range of entertainment activities, and organized team-building exercises.

Especially, groups of five to seven students were required to engage in project-based learning through participation in a Tour Pitch Competition. For this activity, each group prepared and submitted the necessary applications and materials in order to present their proposed tour program before a panel of travel experts. The competition involved a ten-minute presentation showcasing the tour program and related services, supported by promotional materials such as brochures and flyers, with the objective of persuading both the experts and the audience. Following the presentations, students completed short-answer questions to address specific inquiries raised by the experts. After all presentations and discussions had concluded, the panel deliberated and announced the winning teams.
