CELEBRATING THE ANNIVERSARY OF VIETNAMESE TEACHER’S DAY
AND CELEBRATING THE ANNIVERSARY OF THE SCHOOL OF ECONOMICS
CAN THO UNIVERSITY
On November 19th, 2022, the School of Economics (CSE) solemnly celebrated the anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers' Day and the anniversary of the founding of the CSE (September 29th, 2022).
Attending the celebration of the anniversary was the presence of Prof. Dr. Ha Thanh Toan – Rector of Can Tho University, representatives of local government, unions, representatives of training institutions in the region and more than 400 delegates who are units and businesses associated with the CSE, staffs and former staffs of the CSE also attended and congratulated.

Speaking at the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Ha Thanh Toan sent greetings to the entire Board of Rectors, lecturers, staff, and employees over many generations of the CSE. At the same time, Prof. Toan also emphasized the excellent achievement of the CSE, which makes it a leading units of Can Tho University in teaching and research and making great contributions to the overall development of Can Tho University. The CSE will keep go on with the mission, and more importantly, will gradually become more proactive and responsible in professional activities to develop and train human resources for the Society.
Speaking at the ceremony, A/Prof. Dr. Le Khuong Ninh - Rector of the CSE sent his gratitude to individuals and units who have contributed to the development of the School. A/Prof. Lê thanked the partners for always accompanying and supporting the development of the CSE in particular and Can Tho University in general. The CSE team will try its best to complete the mission of education, training, and research. Up to now, many bachelors, masters, and doctorates have been trained from the CSE and are present in all regions of the country, taking on many tasks and responsibilities in Party and State agencies of Vietnam, many sectors of the national economy. Many of them have become good scientists, dynamic, creative and successful managers in their respective positions.
After 43 years of establishment and development, the CSE currently has 10 affiliated units, including 9 Faculties and the Administration Office, 7,500 bachelor students, 570 master students, and 55 Ph.D. students. In addition, there is the Center for Training, Research, and Economic Consulting, which is a unit of Can Tho University but operates professionally under the management system of the CSE. The School currently offers 11 full-time bachelor's degrees and various types of distance learning and part-time degree. In addition, the CSE is currently training 5 graduate majors, namely Agricultural Economics, Business Administration, Finance - Banking, Economics, and Economic Management. It is also an academic management unit for 3 doctoral training disciplines, including Agricultural Economics, Business Administration, and Finance - Banking. Along with the training activities, the CSE also signed cooperation agreements with domestic and international partners to implement joint learning programs, double-degree training, and scientific research. The CSE is proud to train and provide high-quality human resources for the Mekong River Delta region in particular and the country in general, actively contributing to the development of society.
