The School of Economics, Can Tho University has successfully organized a one-week (19/09/2022 – 23/09/2022) exchange program at Airlangga University, Indonesia. The program's purpose was to help students gain practical knowledge and immersion in an international environment. In addition, the short-term exchange program demonstrates the friendship and cooperation between the School of Economics, Can Tho University and Department of Economics, Airlangga University, Indonesia. The trip was not long, but it was a good memory for delegation individuals.

Airlangga University is a multidisciplinary public university with a long-established history in Surabaya, Indonesia. Airlangga University has four campuses with 16 faculties (including postgraduate) and 132 study programs. Consistently ranked high in the world university rankings (#369 according to the world QS ranking and #110 according to QS Asia), Universitas Airlangga has long been considered one of Indonesia's "Big 5" universities.

Participating in this exchange program were 20 students with excellent achievements from different majors. The leaders of the delegation were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phan Anh Tu - Vice Dean of the School of Economics, and Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy Ngan - Lecturer from the Department of Economics. Taking this opportunity, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tu representing the School of Economics, Can Tho University, discussed with representatives and lecturers from the Department of Economics, Airlangga University, the plan for expanding the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for deeper cooperation between the two parties in the future.

The short-term student exchange program between the School of Economics, Can Tho University and the Department of Economics, Airlangga University was an opportunity for students from the two universities to learn both academic knowledge and the cultural exchange of Indonesia and Vietnam. Can Tho University students were arranged to share accommodation and attend lectures with Airlangga University students. As for the content of the short-term exchange program, students learned about the culture and economy of the two countries, technology adoption in Indonesia and lessons on Indonesian entrepreneurship. Furthermore, discussion sessions introducing and sharing information about student organizations helped students enhance their English and presentation skills. On this occasion, the Can Tho students showed confidence when asking questions and a good sense of discipline throughout the program.

Besides the knowledge learned in the lecture hall, the Can Tho delegation had the opportunity to experience many interesting activities such as learning an Indonesian Saman dance, visiting the Batik village and a locally successful start-up business.

Although the one-week schedule was relatively tight, the delegation was excited to visit Bromo Volcano before returning to Vietnam – one of East Java's most visited tourist destinations. To capture the moment of sunrise, the group departed at 10pm and slept on the bus during the journey to Bromo. The weather was below 10 degrees Celsius but it did not cool down the participants' enthusiasm.

After a busy week with many activities together, students of Airlangga and Can Tho have parted with different emotions. Although the exchange program was organized only for a week, it was rich in nostalgia and affection between the students from Indonesia and Vietnam.
