Australian and European Professors Delivering Lectures to
International Business Students of the High quality Programme
The School of Economics at Can Tho University (hereinafter refered as SoE) has constantly developed teaching and training quality in order to meet students’ rising demands in this globalised era. In pursuit of this aim, we have invited a number of overseas professors to provide updated knowledge and real-life experiences from developed countries to our International Business students, especially those students of High-quality Programme (hereinafter refered to as IB students). Although the Covid-19 epidemic has deterred a number of high-qualified professors in developed countries from coming and delivering in-person lectures for our IB students, the School of Economics still managed to invite four professors from Australia and Europe to provide online courses for our students in the second semester of 2021-2002 school year. More details of these professors and their courses are described as follows.
Associate Professor Liem Viet Ngo - University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia
Liem Viet Ngo (PhD, University of Newcastle) is Associate Professor of Marketing at UNSW Business School, University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia. He is the Editor-in-Chief of Australasian Marketing Journal. Since joining the academia in 2007, he has published more than 100 articles including 57 journal articles, 54 refereed conference papers, and two book case studies. His work has appeared in Journal of Service Research, International Journal of Research in Marketing, Journal of Product Innovation Management, British Journal of Management, Industrial Marketing Management, European Journal of Marketing, Long Range Planning, Journal of Services Marketing, Journal of Retailing & Consumer Services, Psychology & Marketing, Journal of Business Research, Journal of Marketing Management, Journal of Brand Management, Australasian Marketing Journal, Journal of Business and Industrial Marketing, among others. He is leading several research projects focusing on emerging research areas: customer management (e.g., mindfulness, empathy, collective behavior), innovations in business models, and entrepreneurship in emerging economies.

Professor Gordon Müller-Seitz – Technische University Universität Kaiserslautern, Germany
Professor Gordon Müller-Seitz is the Chair of Strategy, Innovation and cooperation at the Department of Business Administration and Economics, Technische Universität Kaiserslautern, Kaiserslautern, Germany. He has involved in teaching undergraduates and graduates in Germany since 2003. Some of his teaching papers include Strategic Management, Philosophy of Science , KLOOC - Kaiserslauterer Open Online Course “Sustainable development” (Bachelor), Managing the digital transformation, Management Consulting, Innovation Management, Managing Interorganizational Relationships, Management in Far East Asia, Lecture series "Leading in global responsibility", Qualitative Methods (Master), Qualitative Research and Methods (Doctoral) and Peer-reviewed publishing (Doctoral). Professor Gordon Müller-Seitz has also published more than 40 journal articles on high-quality academic journals and about 12 monographs and special issues.

Dr. Hammad Haq - University of Groningen, The Netherlands
Dr. Hammad Haq is an assistant professor at the University of Groningen. Dr. Hammad has been involved in teaching and supervision activities both at the bachelor’s and master’s level. He mainly teaches courses relating to global business strategy and research methods. In addition, Dr. Hammad’s research interests relate to the headquarter-subsidiary relationship within multinational companies and the political activities or strategies of multinational corporations. A number of his academic research have been published on Journal of World Business, Scandinavian Journal of Management, European Management Journal European, and Journal of International Management.

Dr. Monique Kroese – University of Groningen, the Netherlands
Dr. Monique Kroese is Senior trainer/coach/lecturer academic and professional skills, intercultural communication, and (self-) leadership skills at the University of Groningen, the Netherlands. She is also a linguist by training at the University of Amsterdam and the Victoria University of Manchester, England. She worked at a school for Journalism in the Netherlands and as a teacher and a translator in Iceland. After 10 years as a lecturer in English linguistics at the University of Groningen, she worked in business as a trainer/consultant. In 2008, she returned to the University of Groningen, Faculty of Economics & Business, as a trainer and lecturer, while freelancing for the European Central Bank as a professional communication trainer.

After having completed these courses, all the guest lecturers highly evaluated IB students due to their proactive study approach and active participations in case study discussions and group assignments. All the guests lecturers also express their interest in getting involved in teaching, training, academic reasearch, and exchange programmes from this semester onwards. As far as students’ interest in these courses are concerned, our end-of-course survey showed that over 95% of our IB students were very satisfied with the course contents and teaching methods introduced by the professors. We believe such highly-qualified lecturers’ long-term contributions to our International Business Programme and students’ satisfaction are the key determinants of our programme quality and brand-building in the future.
