SIGNING CEREMONY OF THE MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING (MOU) BETWEEN
CAN THO UNIVERSITY, THE ASSOCATION OFCHARTERED CERTIFIED ACCOUNTANTS
IN VIETNAM (ACCA VIETNAM) AND THE VIETNAM ASSOCIATION
OF CERTIFIED PUBLIC ACCOUNTANTS (VACPA)
The virtual MOU signing ceremony between Can Tho University (CTU), The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants - Representative Office in Vietnam (ACCA Vietnam), and The Vietnam Association of Certified Public Accountants (VACPA) took place on March 23rd, 2022.
The ceremony was virtually witnessed by (i) on behalf of CTU, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Le Khuong Ninh – Dean of School of Economics (SoE); Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Huu Dang – Head of Department of Accounting and Auditing, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Phan Dinh Khoi - Head of Department of Finance – Banking; Assoc.Prof.Dr. Le Long Hau – Director of Center for Training and Economic Consultancy; (ii) From ACCA Vietnam, Ms. Nguyen Thuy Minh Chau – Head of ACCA Vietnam, Ms. Pham Nguyen Ngoc Chau – Public Relations Manager – Education and Training Division, ACCA Vietnam, and Ms. Hoang Vu Ngoc Oanh – Business Development Manager, ACCA Vietnam.; and (iii) From VACPA, Dr.Tran Khanh Lam – Vice Chairman and General Secretary of VACPA, and Mr. Nguyen Thanh Sang – Director of VIETVALUES Auditing and Consulting Co., Ltd, Executive Committee Member of VACPA; together with SoE lecturers.
The MoU identifies activities such as (i) organizing and teaching of ACCA – VACPA coordination certification courses on International Financial Reporting in Vietnam (CertIFR) at SoE, CTU; (ii) supporting CTU students to take part in ACCA-VACPA Job Fast Track; (iii) recommending to VACPA members to recruit students of CTU who are granted the ACCA – VACPA coordination certificate after completing the courses as interns or employees; (iv) organizing extracurricular classes for CTU students on the fundamental differences between International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Vietnamese Accounting Standards (VAS); and other activities for SoE lecturers and students.
This meaningful collaboration between CTU, ACCA, and VACPA followed up by several cooperative activities will help Accounting and Auditing students of SoEs strengthen their knowledge and practical skills in the field of Accounting and Auditing which help them to gain more professional opportunities.
