VIET NAM YOUNG LOGISTICS TALENT - CAN THO UNIVERSITY ROUND 2020

On October 11th, 2020, School of Economics (SoE), Can Tho University organized Viet Nam Young Logistics Talent 2020 (VYLT20) competition – Can Tho University (CTU) round. The purpose of this competition was to seek the best members to represent Can Tho University to participate VYLT20 Semi-Final round, organized in Ho Chi Minh City and Ha Noi. The competition created many opportunities for students and participants to face real issues and to enhance future Logistics workforce in the Mekong River Delta.

There were six (06) teams participated in this competition (including International Business, Commercial Business, Engineering, Industrial Engineering, and Management team). The Judges was five experts including lecturers from SoE and logistics-related companies leaders:

1. Phan Anh Tu, Ph.D - Head of Department of International Business
2. Nguyen Thi Lan Anh, MSc. - Lecturer of Department of International Business
3. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Hoa, MBA. - Lecturer of Department of Business Administration
4. Bui Phuong Khac Nhut - Director of VINA WEST (Trade & Logistics)
5. Bui Thi Anh Thu - CEO of WINTER SPRING GLOBAL CO. LTD (Viet Nam) and WINTER SPRING FOODS PTE LTD (Singapore).

At the competition, there were two sessions, including:

PART 1- MULTIPLE-CHOICES TEST: The team answered questions in English language via Google Forms. The test content included a series of questions about Logistics, Supply Chain Management, and Import-Export Operations.

PART 2 - PRESENTATION & QUICK RESPONSE: In this part, each team prepared one topic and presented it in front of the Judges within 8 minutes, then, the judges raised questions for the team, which took a maximum of 5 minutes.

All teams have brought excellent performances to the competition, then,  the team “THE DREAMERS” won and will be the team representing CTU in the Semi-Final at Ho Chi Minh and Hanoi. The second and third runners are “TRUE ME” and “EVERGREEN”, respectively.

Briefly, this event was highly appreciated by the participants about the contents, the Judges, the operating of the competition, and also the assistant from the Commando team and student volunteers. It is expected that this year, the winning team of this round will also achieve good results in the Semi-Final round as last year performed by THE PANGASIUS team.
