International Conference in Economics and Business at School of Economics, Can Tho University
On December 6th, 2019, School of Economics (SoE), Can Tho University (CTU) organized an “International Conference in Economics and Business”. This is an annual International Conference of School of Economics, CTU.
The delegates who attended the conference include more than 130 experts, scientists, lecturers, master students and PhD students from domestic and international universities and research institutes, representatives of government agencies, the board of Rector and related departments of CTU and staff of SoE. The Conference was honored to welcome Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Phuong, Chair of the Board of Trustee of Can Tho University delivered the opening speech.

Delivering the welcome speech and operating the Conference, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Khuong Ninh, Dean of SoE, thanked the partners, scientists and government agencies, lecturers, master students, and PhD students who attend the Conference and affirmed that the international Conference at SoE will contribute to formulating the image, promoting CTU’s goals and mission of focusing on research, training and technology transfer, and enhancing CTU into one of the best universities in Vietnam. Besides, SoE will try to maintain this series of international Conferences annually with the desire to become a destination of international economic and business knowledge and a popular forum of researchers, lecturers and other domestic and international policymakers.

At the Conference, scientists and delegates focused on discussing diverse topics related to economics and business in the context of countries around the world, Vietnam and the Mekong River Delta, including behavioral economics, labor economics, business, international business, environmental economics, energy economics, risk management, climate change and tourism.
In addition, during the discussion sessions, the Conference also created many opportunities for delegates to discuss and share achievements in scientific research, promote cooperation between scientists, managers and policy-makers in order to achieve the national targets and objectives in economic and business development, especially in the Mekong River Delta. Besides, this is also a great opportunity to create exchanges and connections in scientific research between CTU and other domestic and international universities and scientific research institutions.
In summary, the international conference was highly appreciated by the participants about the quality of presenters, research reports contents, and the operating of the Conference. Furthermore, the most important achievement is that the Conference has been attracted by a large number of scientists, lecturers, master students, PhD students and policy-makers to participate, and created an academic sharing environment among domestic and international universities and research institutes.
