1.Phd program in Agricultural Economics
The College of Economics, Can Tho University, began to open the first course of doctoral degree in Agricultural Economics in 2011. The PhD program in Agricultural Economics aims to help PhD students improve their theoretical knowledge of agricultural economics and economics, obtain an in-depth understanding in agricultural economics; to widen their knowledge of the relevant disciplines; to develop their research skills; to create, detect, forecast and resolve emerging issues in the field of agriculture and rural development and to be able to conduct scientific research independently. This program has 90 credits for students who already have master degree and 120 credits for students who have bachelor degree. A PhD student may complete the PhD program in Agricultural Economics after 3 - 4 years.
The team of full-time lecturers attending the PhD program in Agricultural Economics in the year of 2018 consists of more than 30 professors, associate professors and PhDs with good professional qualifications. Of which, 70% of lecturers graduated from different prestige institutions all over the world (such as USA, the Netherlands, Belgium, Japan, Philippines). Besides, the teaching staff several guest lecturers from other universities and research institutes throughout the country.
In terms of facilities, the College of Economics has a lot of classrooms fully-equipped with teaching facilities (projectors and computers with installed software packages) and auditoriums. PhD fellows can easily access high quality and diverse sources of study and research materials at the Can Tho University's Learning Resource Center and specialized training materials at the college’s library.
With a team of professional lecturers and good facilities, the College of Economics annually recruits 7 - 9 PhD students of the PhD program in Agricultural Economics. Up to now (2018), there have been over 50 PhD students following the program at the college; more than ten PhD fellows among them have already been conferred the PhD degree in Agricultural Economics.
2.Phd program in Business Administration
The College of Economics, Can Tho University, launched the first course of doctoral degree in Business Administration in 2013. The PhD program in Business Administration is designed to help PhD fellows accomplish basic knowledge and gain a deep understanding in the field of business administration; to obtain a broad knowledge of the relevant disciplines; to be able to conduct a research project independently; being able to create, discover, forecast and solve new problems in managing a business in reality; and to have the ability to supervise a scientific research. This program has 90 credits for students who already have master degree and 120 credits for students who have bachelor degree. A PhD student may complete the doctoral program in Business Administration after 3 - 4 years.

3.Phd program in Finance - Banking
The College of Economics, Can Tho University, started to train the first PhD fellows of the doctoral degree in Finance - Banking in 2015. The objectives of the PhD program in Finance - Banking are to bring the fellows with an expertise knowledge of finance and banking, to apprehend their understanding about economic, social and business management issues; to further develop their independent research capacity, to solve new problematic issues of the field of the study with scientific and creative foundations. This program has 90 credits for students who already have master degree and 120 credits for students who have bachelor degree. A PhD student may complete the PhD program in Finance - Banking after 3 - 4 years.
