COLLECTION OF FEEDBACK FROM STAKEHOLDERS FOR

BUILDING AND ADJUSTING THE MASTER AND DOCTOR

PROGRAMS IN AGRICULTURAL ECONOMICS

SCHOOL OF ECONOMICS, CAN THO UNIVERSITY

 

On January 21st, 2022, the Department of Agricultural Economics, School of Economics organized an online conference to collect feedback from stakeholders for building and adjusting the training program of Master and Doctoral degrees in Agricultural Economics in order to meet the requirements of the Circular 17/2021/TT-BGDĐT dated June 22nd, 2021 of the Vietnam Ministry of Education and Training and the highly demanding labor market.

Delegates from School of Graduate, Department of Academic Affairs, the Quality Management Center of Can Tho University participated in the conference. In addition, relevant stakeholders, including representatives of lecturers, students/researchers, alumni, employers also attended.

On behalf of the Committee of Program Formulation and Adjustment, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Le Thong presented the background, objectives, learning outcomes of the Master and Doctoral programs in Agricultural Economics, the structure, the duration, and the content of the program. The modified programs have also been compared with the current Master and Doctor programs to highlight the modification.

Based on the proposed adjustment of the program, the participants recommended many important contributions in order to improve the quality of the Master and Doctor program in Agricultural Economics to meet the highly demanding labor market. In addition, the modified programs were also highly appreciated by stakeholders because they had been refered to other advanced domestic and international programs, which were supplemented with applied courses in the context of international economic integration, applied digital transformation and digital economy.

The Department of Agricultural Economics and the Committee of Program Formulation and Adjustment have synthesized the feedback from delegates to serve as a basis for adjusting the training program.
