STUDENTS’ EXPERIENCE WITH

INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS INTERNSHIP - SUMMER 2020

A few days ago, I saw an update posted on a well-known student fan page, the admin posed a question: "What was the most memorable time during your university time?"

At this moment, it was immediately popped up in my mind about the happy moments of the summer internship that I had just experienced 2 weeks ago.

In this 2020 summer International Business internship, we had an opportunity to visit Cai Cui port and Vinacam Agrifood Joint Stock company in Mekong River delta in 02 days. Thanks to this trip, I had a chance to observe things that I used to learn from lectures at university but have not seen it in reality. For example, many types of ships, how it is operated, especially also a professional and modern rice processing system at this company. These things are just too incredible and too wonderful for me. 

On the other hand, one of the most important things is that I had an opportunity to meet and listen to the leaders of Cai Cui port and Vinacam Agrifood Joint Stock company. Interestingly, most of the staff from these companies are alumni from the School of Economics, Can Tho University. Especially, I also know that there is a guaranty and priority from them to accept students from the School of Economics for internship and then become their staff when students meet their job requirements and standards.

As a third-year student at Can Tho University, this is a very good opportunity for me to improve my confidence, soft skills and also achieve more understanding about my future career. I would like to express my sincere thanks to the company leaders and the School of Economics, Can Tho University to offer this. Again, this will be the most beautiful memory in my university life.

The 2-days field trip at Cai Cui port and Vinacam company is not only providing us a beautiful memory, communication, and other soft skills but also equip us with professional skills and practical knowledge. All the staffs at these companies are very professional and hard-working people. In my opinion, this is one of the best destinations that international business graduate students would like to apply for their careers.

Besides, I was very impressed by the staff at Cai Cui Port, especially how the leaders such as Mr. Hoang Xuan Nam and Mr. Tran Van Binh delivered their speech, and especially the way they explained the management system and activities in this company. This information helps us to connect the theory into the practical.

On the second day of the field trip, we visited Vinacam, Thot Not branch, then took a tour that we can explore this company operating system.

Then, we all had lunch together and took these opportunities to share thoughts and questions to the company staff. Thanks to this field trip, I become more aware of the field in which I am studying and would also help enhance my current abilities. I am sure that the School of Economics is always my right choice.

Once again, I would like to thank the staff from the Department of International Business for offering us this opportunity to explore our academic major from many aspects, share more knowledge and approach to direct experience.
